What is the significance of your derby name?
If you know me, you understand. I like to go the extra mile, and don’t mind getting a little dirty in the process.

What do you do when you’re not skating?
There are times when I am not skating? 🙂 Let’s see, hanging with my family and derby sisters, music, knitting (!), playing with the dogs, work, you know, stuff.
What made you decide to join roller derby?
I wanted to join a long time ago, and tried out for fresh meat back in 2006 with RCR. But life intervened, and I ended up seeing some skaters at Portland Pride parade last year (2012). That started the desire all over again.
What keeps you motivated to keep skating?
On a good day, my derby sisters. On a not-so-good day, my insane competitiveness. Knowing that no matter how many times I may fall, I just have to get back up, and haul my butt back to where I should be.
Who is your derby crush/hero?
My team members are my heroes right now. We have been working so hard together, to reach this common goal. They are so positive and supportive of each other, and all just so we can be together and play this crazy game called roller derby. It blows my mind how awesome they all are.
What is the best advice you would give to someone who wants to join derby or what was the best advice given to you?
Don’t stop. Get up when you fall as fast as you can. Don’t expect your body to be able to do everything perfectly the first time. Derby is hard, but totally worth it. And it will take over your life, so be prepared.
