Hometown? Vancouver, WA
What is the significance of your derby name?
I’m a bundle full of trouble and an ex-ice skater that was never able to conquer the dreaded triple axle.
Training committee co-chair.
What do you do when you’re not skating?
Working as an occupational therapist, spending time with my husband, training a rowdy puppy dog and exercising.
What made you decide to join roller derby?
I had a friend that was a roller derby skater that knew about my past life as an ice skater, and eventually after many conversations where she shared her love of derby I thought I’d try it. I also love skating and I’ll try it in any form. I also have a love of outlets that enable me to be aggressive. I also really like the female empowered camaraderie that is embodied in roller derby.
What keeps you motivated to keep skating?
Who is your derby crush/hero?
Scald Eagle and White Flight.
What is the best advice you would give to someone who wants to join derby or what was the best advice given to you?
If any part of you wants to try derby, do it. Find some gear to borrow and test the waters before you make the big commitment jump. Trying roller derby was awesome for me and I only regret not getting into it sooner.
