What is the significance of your derby name and number? Zoonotic diseases are diseases that can pass between animals and people. They include not so fun things like, GI parasites (“worms”), cat scratch fever, and rabies. Good parasite control and vaccinations can prevent many of these diseases. Take care of your pets!

What do you do when you are not skating? I moonlight as a veterinarian… and now my derby name makes sense!

Who is your derby crush/hero? Elicia Nisbet-Smith on Wheels of Justice. She is an amazing blocker and I am quite envious of her perfect lipstick at every bout.

What is the best advice you would give to someone who wants to join derby? Derby is an amazingly accepting community! Slim, curvy, tall, short, athletic, uncoordinated, young, not-so-young, derby doesn’t care. Everyone is just so excited to have more people interested in the sport. Don’t let your insecurities prevent you from lacing up your skates. Derby wants you!!!

If you had six months with no obligations or financial constraints, what would you do with the time? I am a total history nerd! I would read (more than I already do) and travel the world, going to museums, visiting landmarks, and taking walking tours. Anything World War Two related would be at the top of my list.

Three interesting/ random facts about yourself:

My addiction: Lipstick.
My cure all: Hot Yoga.
My secret ingredient in perfect chocolate chip cookies: I’ll never tell.
